Appeal following reported public order incident in Bournemouth |

Officers investigating a reported public order incident in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
At around 4.30pm on Monday 11 May 2026 Dorset Police received a third-party report of a man in possession of a knife in Charminster Road, near the junction with Iddesleigh Road.
It was further reported the man had approached a black Mercedes-Benz and made threats towards the driver before leaving the area. No injuries were reported.
Officers attended and carried out searches in the area. A 36-year-old man from West Moors was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place and affray. He has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
Police Constable Paul Fletcher, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out detailed enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.
“In particular, I would like to speak with the driver of the black Mercedes-Benz so we can take their account of what happened.
“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling in the area around the relevant time and have dashcam to please review their footage for anything that might assist us.”
